Jonathan Moremi is a freelance journalist and writer with over 40 years experience reporting as a political correspondent both from Europe and the Middle East. He grew up in South Africa and Namibia after spending his early childhood in Germany, Canada, US and the UK. Since the outbreak of the ’Arab Spring’ in 2011 he concentrated his international reporting mainly on Egypt and the Middle East, living for many years in Cairo. He has studied law in Heidelberg and Bonn, Germany, has worked extensively for European, Middle East and American media and has been an interview partner for television and documentaries both in Germany and the USA. He is the editor of the South African views site Comment & Opinion.
